So now I'm all safe and sound back in Atlanta. It's good to be home.
After working on my dad's new squeaky clean reinstalled windows, I came back to a machine that is ponderously slow and probably needs a good wiping and cleanup of its own. But if I were to do that I might lose some pretty important stuff. For now I'm going to settle for a good internet file sweep and a defrag, which won't help much but maybe it'll help a little. The machine is around five years old now, (maybe a little more, I forget what year we bought it) and it really needs to be replaced, but money (of course) is a bit tight. And the 'puter still works, anyway, pretty well most of the time.
My bestest friend is having some major problems with a sinus infection. The doctors he sees keep prescribing more and more medications but I have to wonder if they're really getting to the root of the problem. I haven't spoken to him much about it...he doesn't like to talk about such things, so I don't know exactly all that's gone down. I just want him to get better. I hate knowing he's not well.
Get better soon, Jono... posted by Steph at 11:12 PM[edit]

Here in little podunk Leesville, there's nothing to do. No, really. But family is here so I spend my two weeks being the good daughter. At least this year I'll get a real vacation afterwards.
We got here all safe and sound, and I missed the wonderful PRIDE Atlanta weekend, which, except for John probably being appalled if he knew I'd wanted to go, I would have enjoyed seeing. But it's all a moot point. I content myself with knowing that my best friend was there having a fine old time what with the parades and the parties and whatnot. And he wore some of the jewelry I made him, I'm rather assured. I wonder if he gave his extras away?
But back to Louisiana. My dad's computer decided to die on Saturday night so I've been without internet capability since then. Today, I'd had enough and did a restore (with my dad's permission), which erased everything on his drive and replaced it with a squeaky-clean new Windows. It runs much better now. So I'm finally back online, thankfully.
