Ack. Jono says that if I don't update my blog, he won't either. He actually has an audience besides me and I am not going to deprive his audience of his wonderful wit and charm.
We've hopefully gotten rid of all the illness, now. Two sets of viruses finally went through the whole family, and if I feel one more child with fever I'm gonna scream. On the happy side of the coin, today was our last day before spring break! Hoooray!! So now I have ten wonderful days off. Of course, five of those days will be spent entertaining my parents but that's not all bad. They'll get to be with the kids and that's definately a plus.
It's a full moon. Pretty out tonight, and just slightly cool. Nice night for a stroll if I felt safe enough to do so. posted by Steph at 9:16 PM[edit]

Yeah, I know, I know. "Didn't you say you were going to update every day?" "Where are you?"
Well, just hush. I've had legitimate reason not to post, thank you very much. Mostly, because either I've been too sick to stay sitting at the computer for long or one of the kids has been. At least for the past two weeks someone in the house has been sick. I've missed five full days of work for kids or me being sick and to be honest, I'm really ready for summer to get here and burn off all these geegollyforsaken germs.
I'm tired, I'm still not completely up to par, and if I have to clean up another mess from one end of a child or another I'm gonna scream. posted by Steph at 9:06 AM[edit]

YAYYYY!! We got our van!!!
And it's really nice. It's a 1999 Ford Windstar, dual sliding doors, all the bells and whistles. It's a dark gray/olive green/dark taupe, depending on what light you see it in. Nice and neutral. CD player AND cassette player (WOWOW!!) rear climate controls, four captain's chairs that recline (great on long trips!), rear audio controls, cloth seating, cruise control, tilt steering, roof rack....I went expecting something bare-bones and came away with a gold nugget. It only has 42K miles on it...it was what they call a Red Carpet Lease, turned in before the lease was even up. Well taken care of. Our payments are really good, too. I'm simply amazed.
I got to drive it home. We actually put it in my name, a first since our marriage. Always before, we got out of paying taxes on the car by claiming John's military status, but as we're now in John's home state, we can't claim that here. And because my name is on the title, it's on the registration, which means we have a full year before we *do* have to pay our taxes on it.
I feel like an adult, suddenly. posted by Steph at 10:22 AM[edit]
