The largest part of the holidays are done for me. Whew. I have one present still to finish and give, and there is still New Year's dinner to make on Tuesday, but those are small things.
Mom and Dad came and went, and no eggshells were broken, thankfully. The kids loved having them, and I think we showed them a pretty good time.
Santa Claus was good to the children this year. The boys got a train table with wooden trains, some clothes, and toys that they wanted; Eva got the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit, a telescope, a microscope, and clothes. She's found out that the older you get, the fewer toys Santa brings.
I got a tub spa and some books and cd's; John got clothes and a couple of cd's too. (Hey, it's what was on his list!) All in all, it was a pretty good Christmas. I ate too much, of course...gained a couple of pounds but at least it wasn't a huge amount.
If it stays this warm for the rest of winter, I'll be happy. posted by Steph at 8:35 PM[edit]

Nasty nasty nasty. This time of year is my favorite time, and my least favorite time. I'm sure most of you can relate. I love the happiness, the music, the lights...the feeling in the air, (even though I'm looooving this warm weather!) the gifts. Especially the gifts and the food.
But time flies so fast when you're so busy, and I've been mega-busy with trying to get gifts and cooking and baking and getting ready for people to come over and all that comes with that.
I have to say, I'll be glad for New Year's Day. Then maybe I'll get a chance to sit down and catch my breath again. (whew!) posted by Steph at 10:52 PM[edit]

Didn't I say time went by too fast?
December already. That means we've been here in Hot-lanta for almost a year. It's been nice...I've enjoyed it here a lot. I'm able to connect with some really good friends; the mood is friendlier here than it was up in Virginia; and it just seems like home. I'm happy.
